I’Endai Minor

I’Endai Minor is an experienced music educator and musician dedicated to empowering students through the transformative power of music. A native of Snellville, Georgia, he is a proud graduate of Shiloh High School, where he served as tuba section leader and earned the distinction of being an All-State tuba player in the state of Georgia. His early experiences as both a musician and leader inspired his commitment to teaching and mentoring young musicians.

Mr. Minor went on to earn his bachelor's degree in Instrumental Music Education from Alabama A&M University, where he again served as tuba section leader and performed in a wide range of ensembles. He recently earned his Master's degree in Music Education from the University of Memphis.

His teaching career began in Huntsville, Alabama, where he served as band director at Morris Middle School. He also served as assistant band director and chief arranger at Lee High School. These roles gave him valuable experience working with diverse student populations and preparing both middle and high school ensembles for successful performances. In recognition of his outstanding work, Mr. Minor was named Morris Middle School Teacher of the Year for the 2023-2024 school year, and was also honored as Secondary Teacher of the Year for the Huntsville City Schools District that same year.

He now serves as the Band Director and Music Technology Instructor at Moore Middle School in Gwinnett County Public Schools, where he is currently in his fourth year of teaching. In addition, he contributes to the Central Gwinnett Marching Black Knights as a Low Brass Instructor, continuing his commitment to supporting young musicians across the community.

As a performer, he continues to share his passion for music as a low brass musician, most recently with the Conyers Covington Community Orchestra. Outside the classroom, he enjoys arranging music for band, listening to hip hop, R&B, jazz, and gospel music, watching sports, and spending time with his wife, his family, and friends.

Through his teaching and musicianship, Mr. Minor strives to instill in his students a lifelong love for music and the confidence to reach their fullest potential.
